    Icon5 Parts in Northern NSW?

Greetings fellow Peugeotphiles. It's great to find a local site like this - keep up the good work.

I've recently moved from Melbourne, where I had a great mechanic & parts supplier, to Coffs Harbour, where I've seen 3 Pugs. in as as many months; and they were probably tourists. Can anybody clue me in to a local parts supplier and/or Pug mechanic. In particular I'm looking for radius arm bushes for my 505. Do Repco or similar carry these sorts of parts?...zac

You'll probably find that Import Advantage at Stafford in Brisbane will send them to you no problems... I don't think going through Repco would be much help at all.

There are a lot of Pug owners around Ballina, Byron Bay and Casino...

Thanks for the responses thus far. I original posted because I needed radius arm bushes, which Coles sent me pronto. I need a couple of other bits done which I can't do/ be bothered to do myself, so it's good to know that their work is 'brilliant'. Thanks xsited

PS - your surname wouldn't be Coles would it?

Geoff King Autocare used to be the Peugeot dealer in Coffs for ages - I dont know what happened to the franchise (whether they gave it up or it was taken off them), but they may still do some Peugeot service work.

Just on that...I think it is rediculous towns the size of Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie dont have Peugeot dealers...

Thanks Alex, I'll call Geoff King and check their current Peugeot fixing status. It would sure beat a day trip to Lismore if they were still Pug literate, although I'm willing to travel for someone who is passionate about Peugeots...And yes, it would be nice to see a few more dealerships around the place, but perhaps the newer breed of Pug is not as hardy in the bush as the rear drive era cars? Just a thought, not an opinion...zac

I think the biggest problem with finding a dealer is that French, German & Swedish cars have been out of fashion for car dealers fo a while since the Korean invasion, after all why would you want to have to pay a fortune in specialised gear to service a potential 2 or 3% of the market in your local area when you can sell $15,000 throwaways with mega warranties reliant on them having every service done by you t extremely inflated rates and knowing that the pile of dung they've bought for the $15K will be avoided like the plague by most other dealers so they'll come back to you to replace it with a similar one & you've got them for life almost.
Up the Coast of Queensland to my knowledge, there's a Cit dealer at Southport, one at Brisbane another couple of part time dealers at Nambour & Bundaberg and nothing then until around Townsville & Cairns.
I understand in Sydney there's a couple selling Korean & Cits so you can imagine the passion they show to the French stuff...."howdya spellit agin? Sitr**** or Perrj****" and Peugeots aren't much better catered for.
The saving grace seems to be the number of very committed service guys there are around that makes up for the shortage, problem is you often have to travel to find them and beware of "wolves" in the flock.

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

mate - there is a Peugeot dealer all the way out here in Dubbo - i think Pugs can handle the harsh roads of the North Coast. I think people also underestimate the amount of money on the North Coast and the number of people that probably would consider buying a Peugeot except for the fact there is no dealer in a major centre relatively close.

LOL, so suspicious!! Nope, I grew up in the area though and my Dad owns a 504 he takes there.

(I've also had my 306 in there a couple of times.)

C'mon. I was just kidding around...such a glowing referral,...and you know you can't trust just anyone you meet on the net these days. For all I know you could be a 7 year old with ulterior motives.
