New Peugeots with Water Based Paint???

I was talking to someone today and they were telling me that the new pugs have water based paint...

They also said you have to be carefull with what you wash your new pug with, as the wrong type of car wash could damage you nice new shiny paintwork.

    Can anybody confirm this??

Wonder what the paint will be like in 10 years time?

Thats very interesting. I think the top coat would have to be something non-wter based wouldn't it? I wonder what the finish is like?

    I can't imagine a water based duco'

Wouldn't surprise me, many European manufacturers have been using water based paints for several years now for environmental reasons.

I know that VW have been using water based paints since at least the mid 90's. Our 1996 Seat has it. Still looks good after 7 years, much of it parked in the open.

    Cheers
