Default Es9j4 timing tensioner advice needed

Doing a timing belt kit / water pump on a es9j4 and have an issue. It had the earlier type tensioner and I have the late one to replace it. Tensioner bolts up with no issues, but the new water pump I have has provisions for the locating pin of an old style tensioner.... This fouls on the tensioner bracket. What I'm wondering, is there a different pump available without the provision for the pivot pin? Do I have the wrong pump? Or is there something else I have overlooked. Thanks.

I have similar issue here. Ready to change cam belt, but have the old style tensioner. Apparently you just need to cut a corner off the new style one??
Does anyone know how to set tension on old style tensioner without the magic SEEM gadget?

You need to cut a corner off the water pump. I've got one apart at home at the moment, I'll take a picture when I get home in a couple of hours.
