Default 205 GTI Rear Screen Rubber Trim

Having no luck getting the rear rubber trim to sit down smoothly in the channel. Took it to a windscreen joint and they said the screen has to come out to install it correctly...$165.
Does that sound right or is there an easier way?
Think I'll just tape it off and use black silicon if so.

    Cheers.

I thought it was just pressed in on top. IE. could be done afterwards. However, mine was put in at the same time as the rear screen was stuck in place...

Yeah that's what I thought too but I'll be damned if I can do it cleanly. I'm using a brand new Peugeot rubber but I can't get the old one to go back on properly either. Tried using soapy water and all that.
