Default Unlicensed 505 driver caught on Highway Patrol

Did anyone else see the young fella picked up by the cops driving an unregistered circa 1988 505 GTD last night on Highway Patrol?
Apart from the fact that he didn't have a licensed driver with him, he hadn't figured out how to turn the lights on. It's possible they weren't working anyway.
The excuse was that he didn't have anyone to accompany him. Probably didn't know about AussieFrogs, perhaps there could have been someone in his area who could have helped out, both with the car and with the accompanying

Yeah saw that. No licence, no number plates and driving at night without lights and recons the cops were picking on him.

He was very annoyed, how dare the cops pick on him. Scariest thought is that one day we'll have to share the roads with him.

He said something about it being a $200 bomb and didn't know where the light switch was. It was a GTD, he doesn't deserve it.

This sounds as bit like an incident some years ago when my (now much reformed and on the straight and narrow) eldest son (not the one I used to bring along to PCCV meetings) took his mothers Trak yellow 504 for a drive from home (beats walking) in Knoxfield down to Belgrave South. He might have got away with it had the Police not thought it strange to be driving along in 1st gear and to be weaving all over the road. I think he was about 14 at the time.

I thought I was watching the Kiwi version of that show! What a performance.
