S16 brake warning light q

Hello everyone!
The brake warning light is starting to come on in my car sometimes when I brake, what exactly does this mean? Pads or discs?
I just had the pads replaced and discs machined under 10 000k's ago. Not happy.
Also, how urgent does this need to be fixed? Within a week?
Will I hurtle off a cliff because my brakes fail while wearing something totally disgusting and looking like a complete feral when my pulverized body is scraped from the pointy rocks, while seagulls are flying around trying to eat my eyes, squawking like a fat chic trying to get into coles just after closing so they can buy the pack of winnie blues, while trying to keep the 8 kids locked in the commodore from playing with the horn?

I commend you on your vivid imagination. Please write some childrens books or something, I'd buy them.

I dunno what the pad warning setup is like on the 306's (they never worked on any of mine) but if they are anything like my GS the little connector doobies might have disconnected.

Thats about as technical as I get, I'm afraid.

Usually the light comes on because the pads are wearing thin, basocally its a wire that earths out on the rotor hince the brake light come on.

But since you just done your pads about 10000km/h ago it may be something else

Have you checked your break fluid level

I persoanlly dont have the cable connected and dont have the brake light commin on, prob wont hurt to inspect that area too thow

Which light exactly? I believe there is a different warning light for low fluid and low pads.

It is the brake pad light. I will get it checked out asap.

I've been getting this light for the last 2 weeks but only when I start the car (lasts first 2-3 mins when I press the brakes) and seems to do it more when I reverse and hit the brakes

I know back rotors are new and pads are at 90%.
Front pads are at 85% and rotors are really worn (I was told to replace them next time I change front pads by my mechanic) - the light only tells you that pads a getting thin - right ? Could it be fluid or rotors problems or anything else ? Once I drive for a few mins the light never comes on even under heavy use of the brake pedal. The feel of the brakes seems to be there as if nothing is wrong. I am due for a service in 500km so that's in 2 weeks for my driving.

Should this be looked at urgently since its been doing it for a few weeks ?
