    Default Radiator cap.

Hi My 2ltr 306 loses coolant from the over flow pipe after driving in heavy city traffic but not after highway driving.I think it might be the radiator cap. Where is the best place to get a new one in sydney? is it from the dealers? Thanks.

It is designed to leak a little to allow for the coolant expanding under temperature. Are you repeatedly filling it up all the way? If so then it will probably repeatedly overflow. Is the engine overheating? It shouldn't really ever get above ~90C, even in heavy traffic. Does it?

No it doesn't over heat. It only gets to about 90c.

Heaps of people overfill those radiators then wonder why it comes out! Only fill it to the bottom of the filler neck. Anymore and it'll pump it out every time.
