Still has a way to go to beat the Volvo p1800 that has done 3 million miles. But still a damn good result

Here in NZ there is the "Million mile U10" (404 Ute).
And it has now done considerably more.
It was owned by the local assemblers of Peugeot/Renault/Rambler/Hino Contessa and others, and daily travelled from the assembly plant in Thames to Auckland, twice. There was a celebration in the factory when the million miles ticked over, and it then just carried on doing what it did best.
It is now owned and delightfully restored and lives on. Who knows the real mileage now?

I think I've seen that car.

The 'old mongrel' still goes, now fitted with a 404 wagon motor and in need of a clutch, but it hasn't been registered for 10 years.

It had done at least 800,000 miles and was, according to the late Ron mylne, the second 504 sold in queensland.

It's very scruffy now, but I'll deal with that eventually.
