    Default 1998 306 Model XSI v 1999 306 Model XT

Can anyone tell me the difference between these two models. Both have the 2L motor - beyond that I don't know.
    Some clarification would be helpful.

    From Redbook:

    1998 XSi:

Peugeot 306 - Car Research - Redbook mobi

    1999 XT:

Looks like they both have the XU10J4R but the XT is detuned to 84kW while the XSi is 100kW. Someone else may be able to explain why that is the case.

Working from memory here, but all the early N3 models had 1.8 litre 8v 77Kw SOHC engines except the XSI which had a 2 litre 8v 93Kw & the S16 which had a 2 litre 16V 116Kw DOHC donk.
The later N5's from Sept '97 onwards (which I think are the pick of the 306's), got DOHC 16V heads, except the auto's.
Power went up from 77Kw for the 1.8 to 84Kw & the 2 litre engines went to 100Kw & the S16 became the GTi6 at 124Kw.
The XR & XT's offered different trim levels, XR was 2 door while the XSI has the sports suspension & bodykit of the GTi6 & 2 more doors.

    This is worth a read-

I think that's the first time I've seen a photo of Jeff's 405 track car. You carry number 45, I carry 405 - could make a race team for a 6 hour relay one day???
