    Hello, I need help.. Please.
I have a Peugeot 405 STi Sedan – 5/1993 – I am the second owner of 7 years. She is in excellent condition for her age and has only done close to 188,000km with her motor reconditioned at 100,000km.
On Thursday night I was driving home and there was a big “BANG” and then NO GEARS…. She rolled to a stop… I couldn’t event put her in REVERSE….
She is a 4 speed Automatic transition with lock-up Touque convertor… (I really don't know what that means but an hoping someone out in the world of French cars does)
So the question is …. Do I need to get a new transition or is it the convertor???
I would like to save her from the grave if possible.

Here is a question, will the car move by pushing when lever is moved to Park position? Might help understand where to look for faults.

Sounds more like a differential problem. You'll have to get under it to see whats going on when in gear.

    Balki,
Unfortunately for you your transmission has expired! I had an early 405 and the same thing happened to me. I paid $2500 to get the transmission overhauled. If the late series 405 transmission fits easily then you would be best to buy it and have it installed Just don't fill it with DX111!
