    Icon7 1997 Peugeot 406 Mods

G'day All, I'm new to this forum and to french cars as well.

Generally i have davelled in Aussie built cars, mainly Falcons. But after much umming and arring I recenty got hold of a Peugeot 406. I'm really surprised at the level of refinement these things have. Engine is very smooth, rides very well.
One thing I would like to improve on though is the performance. What are the most common mods for this model car? Without going too over the top and spending a fortune. It's a 2 litre petrol 5 speed manual. According to my research the Engine is an XU10J4R. I can do most things myself as I'm an auto sparky by trade.
I'd like to know peoples experiences with this engine, what's worked and what hasn't. Please let me know your ideas people!

    Thanks.

Stage 1 inlet cam from Peter T, with #3 cam pulley. Gti6 inlet manifold. Should be good for a few extra KW without compromising what you like about the Carr, and if you do the work yourself it's pretty cheap, too.

Actually. The j4r can just take gri6 (rs) cams. That will get it moving nicly. I think the timing needs to be adjusted to make them work also... PeterT?
