Did anyone else get a Peugeot Australia book

    Hi!

Peugeot just sent us this book, Peugeot in Australia which talks about all the models they have brought out here and when they were brought out and all sorts of stuff. Did anyone else get it, cause it seemed a bit of a weird thing to get.

My mum bought a 206 about 3 months ago, has anyone else hwo brought a new peugeot_ recently gotten this book?

I received one with the first owners' survey.

These little books are popular with the French marques, I remember years ago Renault had a similar book, "Renault in Australia".

    Cheers,

I've looked through one... not a bad thing to give newcomers an overview of Peugeot's recent past in Australia... the round Australia trials history and so on.

    Pretty lightweight, though.

It's VERY lightweight when you compare it to the other books in the same series produced by that publisher. Anyone who has read their books on Escorts, Alfas, Falcons, etc, will be disappointed by the lack of information in the Peugeot book.

Lightweight it is, but I guess it's a quick easy crash course in "where did Peugeot come from" for the typical buyer. Renault in Australia was similar in detail and size, and also was by Marque. I guess the thing to remember is that the distributors were probably after a cheaper book that could be posted easily and distributed to customers easily.

Marque have produced some good books - another one for a manufacturer was Volvo Downunder, a hardbound book - but really it was too large a book to distribute in the same manner that PAA does with their smaller book. Smaller books might seem less daunting to the average new age Peugeot customer too.

Really, you could say it's a thicker than average brochure with a ISBN number

With well over a hundred years of history, including racing, rallying and many changes in production, assembly, car styles, governments and so on...

I don't think any book could comprehensively cover it all.
