    Default 205 GTI Car Mats

Putting my dodgy brake pedal aside for a moment, I received my new custom car mats today!

    Very impressed!

I had the backs and fronts made up in a dark grey (graphite) and am very happy with them. At least to me they seem to suit better than a black mat on grey carpet.

The chap who does these put the heel pad in on the drivers side at my request, but to my surprise it has the Peugeot logo embossed into it. Very nice surprise!

The boot mat was custom made by the same guy. I actually took my boot liner out and traced a 1:1 copy of the rear most curved edge onto paper and sent it to the bloke with the dimensions of the rest of the boot. It fits perfectly! Nice and snug without riding up on any side. The boot mat was of course done in black!

Obviously having just got them I cant speak to how well they will last, but they feel very good and come with an anti-slip under side.

If anyone is interested, the blokes name is Paul and his comapny is Matcraft in WA. He even has a pattern for a boot mat now!! 205 GTI Car Mats-boot-mat.jpg205 GTI Car Mats-ds-mat.jpg205 GTI Car Mats-pas-mat.jpg205 GTI Car Mats-rear-mats.jpg

The whole set delivered was just under $200.

Obviously cheaper if you don't want the boot mat.

    Thanks to all!

I'm pretty happy with the look. And they will preserve the carpet for a bit longer too. Bonus!

    G'day,
I notice on his site, he lists '206 TI 3 and 5 Door 1999-2007 Front Pair Only Mats' . Is that a model I don't know about or is it a typographical error?
    regards,
    Les W.

T1 is the model designation for the 206 as we know it. For example the 406 was a D8 and then a D9 for the update, 307 was a T5 then a T6 for the update.

We don't like to talk about the 206 "update" here :-)

    Simon.

    side note:
If you are after a soundproofing mat for the 205 and do not want the bs prices out there. Go to a wreckers, find a 206 and take the soundproofing from there. It is an almost identical fit, with some tiny portions that are otherwise cutaway.

The picknpayless guy let me walk out with it for free =]

i say 206 and not 306 because if you find a 306 boot soundproofing, it will be in need-replacing condition anyway.

P.S that looks different to the ones hicho posted. His one has the hard part in the center right under where the pedals lay, the part that gets worn out the most

Lasting very well indeed. Very happy with them.

Keeping in mind it's not a daily driver, they are pretty much as new.

All embossing is holding up fine, no clumping of carpet or unwound stitching on the edges. The plastic heel pad on the drivers side is great too.
