    Default Boots and all

Anybody able to tell me the boot / luggage capacity for a 306 sedan and the 406 sedan? I am wanting to compare these, but cant find a site with all the relevant information.

A quick Google search for boot volume- 306 sedan is 337 litres. 406 is 430 litres.

Thanks Jeff, I think that might be the Hatch, not the sedan, but I will do another search. 406 info is important, so thanks for that

Apologies! Yes that was the 5 door hatch. How does 463 litres for the sedan sound?

That sounds better - and a bit of a surprise that it is larger than the 406. Thanks again.

Seem to remember that the boot capacity of the D9 406 was effectively greater than for the D8 406, due to the lid redesign etc, even though official capacity remained the same at 430 litres.

That 463 for the 306 sedan sounds suspiciously large. Sure its not with the back seats down!

That seems to be the problem: I can find isolated references, but I am not able to find a site which actually gives a comparison. I am also unable to find a site which gives seats up and seats down for both cars. Still looking, thanks.

If you were feeling enthusiastic you could probably work out the volumes for the 306 sedan at least using the AA review of the sedan - http://www.theaa.com/staticdocs/pdf/...8SR_R9512A.PDF

Provides the dimensions needed at least.

(Edit. Why do I keep on typing 307 when I mean 306! Ah!!)

Mmmmm- By doing that, averaging the height , and using the narrowest width I get 504 litres ( a perfect number).
Accepting that the shape is not straight-sided as my calculation implies, seems that 463 is entirely possible. I had seen this AA review, but was too lazy to do the calculation - your post set me the challenge - thanks.
