    Default Just wondering?

Are there any 205 T16 cars in Australia?
I found some very interesting French sites tonight and after watching some of the Rallye vids it got me wondering if there are any 205T16 cars here in Oz.
    Cheers

I dont think there are any proper T16 's in Australia [$300,000? ] however there are several 205's with the T16 motor in them here.

Just the XU10 from the road going 405 T16, not the proper XU8 engine.

I have looked at what it would take to build a replica.....apart from a huge amount of time and money!

You can build a semis-space frame reasonably easy ( well for around 20 - 30k) and a turbo engine these days is also achievable, but the killer is the gear box, virtually impossible to replicate for sensible $$$

Sadev will adapt one from a 307 wrc box for about $40 k.

Throw $100 -120k at one and you will have a replica.... How much was a genuine one again.....??

I recon an evo3 grafted into a 205 shell with a body kit would be a nice compromise!!!!

Yeah, or just go and buy any of the Imprezas you want for one tenth of the price and ten times more fun.

And then you would be just any other driver on the road, thats why I have a Cossie, megane and now the Dimma, I just dont want any old car
My mate bought an STi at the same time I bought the megane.
When we go anywhere he always wants me to drive, and he doesn't drink !
I wonder why, no I dont even wonder, I know why
    Dare to be different.
I'd love to have the cash to do a replica, but sadly, it aint gonna happen.

    Keith,
Can I sell the tickets when you roll the T up for the big inspection? Der Inspektors will have lead poisoning by the time they fill out the paperwork.

My point is if you want a Pug, get a Pug, don't get a Pug and then monster it.
Tell you the truth, I see more 205s than STIs around here, but that may be just my haunt.
Really, I don't think there's that many STIs on the road. Half of a probably small imported number were most likely written off in their first year and the rest were either modified within an inch of their lives and impounded and crushed by the police or modified into the ground (literally). If there's any that has escaped molesting it will probably fetch good money some day.

    Or not.

But if history is anything to go by, try to find a decent Skyline GTR first gen and you'll see prices well over 30k for anything approaching originality and decent shape. Hell, even an AE86 is impossible to find these days. And so on. The modifying mob has done a good job of getting rid of some nice cars.

Well I personally dont want any replicas, if I cant have the real thing I wont bother.
It wont stop me looking and drooling though !
The wife wants a 59 Corvette, so I told her to get out and earn it, so we wont have one of them either
