    Yokohama V550 Tyres

    Another Tyre question. cheers!
Is anybody using Yokohama V550 tyres or have an opinion on these.
I was going to purchase some Michelin Preceda but Bob jane reckons the Yokohamas are better.

Can I ask what 307 and what size? What type of driving will you do? Do you care about wear rates? Noise? What do you want from your tyre?

I haven't heard of the V550, it looks to be a new tyre. From the tread pattern it appears to be a comfort based performance tyre, although it's in the AVS line, which indicates it's a performance tyre. Did Bob Jane mention where this tyre stood against the Yoko AVS ES100?

Here it is if anyone else is interested.

    Here's another link to a description on the tyre <a href="http://www.yrc.co.jp/pr/html/2002/0203/02018E03.html" target="_blank">http://www.yrc.co.jp/pr/html/2002/0203/02018E03.html</a>

The Michelin Preceda is a good tyre, but is overpriced. It won the Wheels tyre test recently, on a RWD car.

Anyway, tell us what size please

    215 x 45 x 17 for 17" mags for a 307 XSE.
Its supposed to be a step down from the Ultra High Performance tyres tested in wheels magazine. Although it still is the same price as those at $300+ per tyre.

A step down from A539? That's a bit strange...I'm not sure what Yokohama are doing. I guess the A539 is a pretty loud tyre.

How did you find the standard Pirelli P Zero Rossos?

What's the price difference between the Preceda and the Yoko? If they're the same price, I'd go for the Michi, myself.

Have you considered Continental ContiSportContact 1 or 2s? I drove those on the Focus ST170 and was impressed.
