Default My 306 GTI6, where to service?

Finally found myself a 306 gti6, it does require some TLC but nothing major.

The major service is due, including timing belt and co, but I've never had a pug or french before so I dont know where to service it. Any recommendations?

Also, the drivers seat needs re-trimming. Anyone know of a good place?
I can't wait to get it on the road 100%, it's been a long time coming

Forgot to mention I'm in Melbourne

I'm looking for a mechanic in the Sydney area for the timingbelt/water pump change for a '6 as well!
I'll let you know if I hear anything about Melbourne while I am searching.

For the OP, I strongly suggest a PM to Kenny (young 4 old pugs).

He is one of a select few people I would leave a car with for mechanical work in Victoria, and not worry even 1%. I'll take peace of mind as a priority over the fashionable "guru" mechanics, anyday.

Based on a recommendation from a particularly fastidious person, the other place would be Officer-Smith but they are not marque-aligned. Not that there's much special about a "6" belt change; even the pinning set is only $90 if you don't have it.

Most of the Sydney French mechanics are a long way from Palm Beach, Wisemans Ferry, and Bundeena.

Universe motors in Richmond or europarts. Are u just after a service or full RWC. I have used both of these mechanics and can vouch for there work, have found myself a handy local mechanic and he has done all the work on my GTI for the last year.

A full service and RWC. I'm not too bad with tools but I'm not confident on replacing the timing belt. I'll change the filters and oils myself though.

    Hey Dave,

Would you be able to list the French mechanics at Wiseman's Ferry and Bundeena? Has any one else had good/bad experience with these two places?

    Thanks,
    Luke
