Also can leak if you have a sunroof because of blocked drains in roof or in my case the outlet rubber tube connected to drain holes came loose. Only found this through part removal of headlining.

I've had water in the rear left footwell. Turned out to be some sand (after a trip to the beach) between the door and the seal allowing the water to wick through the seal.

door seals ARE the problem. i chased prob for few years. found that at certain angles water came thru seals. l saw drips coming thru fr of door trim pocket. extra self adhesive rubber strip 30mm x 3mm stuck to pinch welt cushion fixed it!

If you have a sunroof check the drainage channels that run down the A pillars. Mine were blocked which caused the sunroof to leak when parked on certain angles.

Make sure your door seal isn't blocked.

Also make sure that the plastic sheet inside the door is intact. If not any water getting in past the window scrapers will not get to the door drains, but run down the inside of the door because of the slope of the doors, and come into the car.

Only found out now because i had to drive with socks, and realised the footwell was damp.

Gotta check out the door seal tomorrow morning -_-

Just a bit of advice ......to dry carpet quickly go to a car wash asap and use their strong vacuums to suck up majority of water from carpet. It works a treat......
