    Default Dimma Dilema !

If the "Crisis" passes the pits inspection on Monday I have to decide which way to go.
I have the Mi16 motor which the previous owner bought from Corrado many years ago and which looks as though it has had a head job.
I can stay with the standard 1.6 as it seems to be running well.
What other sensible options are there?
I'm new to the 205, been a Ford man all my life really, but the Megane 250 and now the Dimma have opened up a whole new French way of looking at things
I find the people here are so much more helpful than I've found on the Cossie forums, for Australia that is, so I'm thinking of progressing the Dimma over the Cossie, maybe just outing the Cossie at 4-5 shows per year or even ( Heaven forbid) selling it.
The Megane will be the daily drive as it has new car reliability, but as I've gone from 30,000kms a year to 10,000 kms a year since selling my other business its a possibility the Dimma could be a tax deduction/ advertising option and the Megane could even be sold (Horrendous loss after just 6 months though )
So what do I do guys?
I love the power and handling of the RS250 Megane, I love the character of the Sierra, but the Dimma needs to be exploited !!!
Sorry to waffle on, I'm just hoping someone can set me on the right track !
I do want to do Hill climbs and autokhanas but no wheel to wheel stuff.
    HELP
    Keith

Easy choice. I'd keep all three.

    Default Dimma Dilema !

+1 for above. The Dimma is a rare and unusual beast and provides a genuine snapshot of a bygone era.

    Default Dimma Dilema !

I would still be very tempted to do the 16valve conversion.

I would do the conversion with the view it could be returned to the original 1.6 in the future.

The dimma deserves to be fixed up and kept original. I would buy another cheap 205 for a few K, strip it right down and put the Mi engine in that for your hill climbs etc. You have the same multiple toy problem as everyone else!

Booked in for early Jan for a full respray, body work repairs and re-upholster the original seats.
I drove her for the first real time today, 64 kms and it was a pleasure !
No obvious problems, except maybe a wheel bearing, but I have 8 weeks to fix those things.
Sporting standard WA tin number plates till the new ones arrive in 2 weeks.
They will be motorbike size slimline acrylic plates " DIMMA "
Dont you just love it when things start to come together.
Now its on the road I'll get some pics up.
Thanks for all the comments, I'm leaning toward keeping it as a 8V and as standard as possible, though I may remove the sunroof.
I also have two Cosworth louvres spare from the Cossie so I think they will be put in the new bonnet.
Once again thanks for the comments / assistance guys, many heads are better than one.
I also tried contacting the guy who is supposed to have built it today, but no returned call.
    Cheers
    Keith.

Yes I'm slowly moving my thoughts to stock !
Would like to do a few different things though.
I'm still not sure about the seats?
I will get them re-done but after driving the old girl for 60 kms yesterday I noticed I slide around on cornering, yes I know I should have been gentler but, hey, she had just passed the pits !!
And I want to get rid of that bloody sunroof
I fried all the way there and back
Its def an aftermarket one as my body guy said he used to fit the exact same one when he was in New Zealand
Ideally I'd like to fill it in and have a smooth roof, we will see.
    I love a project !!
    Cheers
