Default Easy way to change 306 front sway bar rubbers??

    Greetings all,
Just wondering if anyone has found an easier way to change the front sway bar mounting rubbers in a 306 than what's described in the Haynes manual? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Mine's a 1996 XTdt.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't know what Haynes says but you can do the swap with the ARB and subframe in place, exhaust on, gear linkages on, etc, etc.
Undo the ARB links from the struts. This takes any load off the ARB. Undo the vertical bolt holding the rear of the wishbone to subframe. It holds the ARB bush cages to the subframe. The cages that hold the ARB bush in place separate from the subframe. Lift the cage up. It hinges at the back. Then remove the bush. It has a split in it to allow this. Refit in reverse making sure you hook the cages into the subframe.

Thanks for the suggestion, Bluey. I'll have another look underneath and see how it would go. The Haynes method seemed awfully complex to me.

Had the mechanic do the rubbers today. It only took him 1/2 an hour to do it the way Bluey suggested. Don't believe the Haynes manual!!
    Thanks again Bluey.
