    Default XU9/10 Sump Interchangeability

    - Is it possible? The aim would be, XU10 auto tensioner on an XU9 block.

I have an XU10 sump on my 1.9 with an extension plate. Holds just under 7 litres of oil. Go here to see pics.

... but I don't get what you mean by "auto tensioner"
....now watch a Peugeot turn into a corner!

The wrong oil is better than no oil at all.

    Cameron is onto it.

I couldn't quite follow the pictorial sequence, as there didn't seem to be accompanying comments to explain the endgame. Was that a modification to reduce oil starvation in an XU9, or just to gain capacity? What role did the spacer play? What happens with the sump pick-up?

I think the extra capacity is just an added benefit, with more G-force required to move oil away from the pickup in its new relative position, so to speak.
