I have removed the nut but just cannot get it off!
I have tried hammering, pulling, wiggling, gear puller ! If my ball joint seperator wasn't broken I'd try that too!

You're obviously not holding your tongue in the correct facial expression. The arm's possibly Loctited on (I do that).

why do you need to do that? usually just a good wiggle and pull will get it off!

We've never had one that won't budge. Just undo the nut and give a wiggle.

Unless someone loctited it of course, then your in deep doo doo.

When the arm has been inadequately tightened prior and the driving splines have "stripped" its inner surface to an extent where it doesn't really grip unless you crank the snot out of it, a small dab of the weakest Loctite is good prophylaxis against further slippage.
