Default Peugeot 206 GTI 180 engine plus interior 2004 model half-cut

I bought this and had it trucked over from Melbourne with the intention of doing a complete engine + dash+ electrics conversion into a 205. While I was accumulating parts I ended up buying a Clio, starting mods on that, and eventually had to abandon this project, so it's up to someone else now to continue it!

The engine had approx. 20, 000 km on the clock. I'm not sure of the reason for the half-cut, I'm assuming it was rear-ended and was a write-off.

Would be perfect for someone else interested in transplanting into either a 206 or a 205 as a lot of UK enthusiasts are doing nowadays.

The interior is quite dusty and dirty, but should scrub up quite nicely after a good clean.

Über tempting, and if it goes for the right price, I'll be right in there.

Who did you use to transport it from Melbourne? Why didn't you leave it here for me to buy :-)?

I'm not sure who trucked it over. The mechanic I bought it off organized it, cost me $300.

Seems a lot of people interested in this are from Melbourne, so this thing might be destined to return there!

Or to the poor 205 to be hacked about.
My GTi is getting more valuable by the minute.
How many of these conversions get finished properly, or at all?

Any ideas if that would fit the standard GTi's airbox?

    It would not.
The GTi's air filter is about an inch shorter than the 180's.

The heater blower is described as "in perfect condition" but at the top of the 4th photo it looks like there is a piece broken off the rotating part.
Is that gap standard or is it broken? I imagine that might upset the balance.
