    Default 205 GTI S3 DKZ engine - $500

Taken out of a '91 GTI that's just had an Mi16 conversion.

Engine was in great shape, well looked after and serviced (receipts available), with 165,000km on the clock.

Local pick-up available from Hornsby, Sydney.

Think it might actually be a DFZ engine, not a DKZ according to this?

    Default Dfz?

    Why do you say that?
It is a series 3 car so DKZ, the 1986 standard refers to the introduction of unleaded fuel in 1986.

    Ah, oops again...

Thanks for that Graham, looks like it is a DKZ after all...

    Anyone want it?

Just to make sure, did it have a crank angle sensor (bolted into the top of the clutch housing), or alternatively does it have a cable plugging into the side of the distributor?

I cropped your image so it is smaller. If yo have a look at where the arrow is, there is a black and silver tag which has either DKZ or DFZ designation on it. I can see the tag, but I cant read it in this photo.

    Looks like it says DKZ.

I'll call the mechanic and confirm tomorrow.

Got the mechanic to have a closer look, and it's definitely a DKZ!
