Default Another to good to wreck 405 SRDT

This is another car thats to good to wreck.

Its a 405 turbo diesel that is mechanically excellent. Engine runs like a swiss watch. Its done 340,000km.

    Check out the number plate.

We drove it home and back last night and it really is hard to fault. It has the Bosch pump so that will sell quickly.

Now, after all the crap we got for wrecking the 406 coupe because some people wanted to buy it after the deadline we are not offering this one for sale. In fact we may never offer one for sale again.

This car is parts only, it will be wrecked and sold as parts. No argument.

Let me remind people we are a wreckers yard not a used car yard, we make our money from dismantling them not selling them and we only offer for sale cars that we feel are too good to wreck. That only means that we hold off stripping them for a while to give people the oportunity to save them. After the deadline they are wrecks.

    Hi David,
How can anyone complain about you wrecking the 406? You hung off and off and off. It had a major gearbox problem and, as you point out, you are wreckers.

    C'mon people, be fair.

    Dave,
You had every right to wreck whatever you choose, as you say it is your business.
Can I thoughfully suggest to avoid crap in this thread that you consider changing the title of this thread given your intention to part this one out?

Too good it may be, but wrecked it will be.

Thanks for the support guys, glad I'm not going mental.

This 405 is pretty good. I'd forgotten how good diesels are (my 406 is still not finished) it is such a good freeway criuser I don't know why everyone doesn't drive them. Sits on 100kph at 2400rpm and its so quiet and smooth all you can hear is the tyre noise. As for overtaking power from 100 to 130 its quicker than the Mi16.

We've done about 300km so far on $25 of fuel making it cheaper to run than the 505 on gas.

With an engine this good it wont last long and we've already quoted it so this car will be heading to that great car yard in the sky fairly soon. Mind you, till then I'll be using it, why drive an expensive underpowered petrol car when I can drive this.

David I'm very tempted to make an offer but the bank manager says no and SWMBO would have me talking in a high pitched voice in no time.

By the way I'm very happy with the Red 205 Si I bought from you.
Took very little work to it to get it registered and great to drive.
    Scrubs up well too.

    Paul.

Angru why didn't you call? We have taillights in stock. 4 of them.

All Chris wants off this car is the number plates. He's doing the paper work already.
