Default Wanted: Late (post 1967) 404 rear axle assembly

As stated above, I'm after a late Peugeot 404 rear axle assembly, with the fine splined axles and 4.2:1 ratio.

Complete assembly drum-to-drum with torque tube and propshaft would be ideal!

    Default 404 rear end

You could be in luck as my son is soon to take delivery of a parts 404. I have not seen it but is believed to be a 69 model. Main drawback is it is in Gladstone and will need to check it out and see which parts son needs. Will check with him in the next couple of days.

    G'day Geoff,

The parts car sounds very promising, it's certainly the right age!

I look forward to hearing if there's going to be any rear end parts left after your son takes what he needs!

Always up for a weekend drive up the coast!

    Default 404 rear end

    Scotty.
Sorry for the delay as son has yet to take delivery of the said 404. That may take a week or month as a demanding job and four kids are keeping many projects at bay for my son. Weather conditions are certainly not helping and he can't decide what he needs until it is in his yard.

I know of another 404 that will be dismantled but the owner has another two or three years worth of jobs that need to be done before the 404 will be started. It may even decompose gracefully in the mean time. I will try to get him to get rid of the 404 sooner but don't hold out a lot of hope.

Will keep you in mind with my suggestions to the owners until they actually do something.
    Thanks Geoff
