Default WTB High comp pistons XU9J4

Anyone got a set of 10.4:1 CR pistons from an XU9J4? Will be pulling an engine down shortly for rings and bearings, and am looking to increase compression ratio without machining the block and liners. If I can't find a set of pistons, that will be the next option.

    Cheers.

I am after a set also, I have sent an enquiry off to the US for some custom pistons. maybe we can split the shipping depending of what your budgets like.

I can get you a set of Wossner Pistons from the UK pretty right with a compression ratio of 11.4:1, but what I am really after is a set of 10.4:1's like the original high comp units for the XU9J4 (not Z).

Last time I checked, the Wossner units were around $1100 AUD and comes with rings and new wrist pins as the originals are too short.

Can also get really tidy PEC con rods which are a H beam forged steel unit, but you would need to have the small end bush honed as they are a multi fit unit that has a 19mm stock bore, you need 22mm for the Mi16 piston kit and wrist pins.

    Cheers.

I was just quoted US$599 plus postage for a set of CP custom forged pistons.

They also do Cat Cams which I was quoted $849 for a Mi16.

I am not sure when/if I am going ahead, however if anyone might be interested, I'd thought about asking for a group buy.

    Cheers,
    Nick

Make sure the little end bush set up is what you want, different to the 8 valve set up.

I haven't had first hand experience ,Peter T knows all the details, but I think to do with the fact they have floating pins rather than pressed into the rod as for the 8 valve.
I think Peter had to use spacers with the Wiseco pistons he had made.

Yes, you need to be careful with rod float on the XU9J4.
