    Default 504 parts wanted.

    Looking for a few bits:

The two mirrors that go behind the heater controls. New or with good reflective material.
Cigarette lighter (part that goes behind the dash, does not work. Makes charging my phone difficult).
5 speed gear gnob that fits a curved gear shaft.
A copper head spacer to lower the compression.
Headlight 'bubble' protectors. Some dumbass painter spilt paint thinners on them and it etched mine.

    Thanks guys.

Here's a picture of the 'bit' that the gear knob goes on to. Anybody know what the technical term is for this bent lever apparatus?

Ooh, expensive. Is there some reason the gear lever is bent in that way?

I've never seen a gearstick like that. Where did it come from?

It came with the car. Richard Marken put a BA10-5 in the car before I bought it. No idea why it's hooked like that.

The 504 gearshift does have an odd bend, but always figured that was because it was designed as a LHD car. The bend therefore redirecting the gearshift to a right hand side driver. However that particular bend is further up the shaft and looks to me like a backyard mod for personal preference...

That bend is standard 505 gear selector. That's what you have.

'All early 505 GRs and SRs had this type of gear lever. Also late model 504s (part 1982) had the same lever (4 speed knob).

I've seen people cutting them and welding in a straight piece of bar to ise a standard knob

That's true, I have it in my 1982 504 and I often get asked whether it is original or not
