    Default Wrecking 85 Fuego, Melb

Hi all - the Fuego is slowly disappearing - so an update on what's left:
Description: 1985 (series II). Was running till today when disabled by vital bit removal ..
Dark blue. All parts cheap to almost free - would rather see them re-used than recycled. Prices: in multiples/submultiples of Guiness 4 packs

    Gone:
    Front seats
    Power steering
    Washer bottle
    Coil
    Steering column
    Dizzy

    Still there:
    The rest ... including
    Motor
    Gearbox
    dash
    rear seats
    most trims
    Alloy wheels
    Newish shocks

    See pics attached.

    Cheers
    Bryce

    What color is the interior?

If it is grey and the boot mat is still there, how much do you want for it?

    Also, are the headlights ok?

    Regards,

    Richard

Default Fuego bits - general answers

Quick answers - detailed PM's coming.
Gauges work, but needles bent. Water pump old. Sorry.
Rims good nick. 14 inch. 185/60 tyres on them. 2 Firenza 07 are reasonable tread, other 2 another brand tyre and just roadworthy.
Interior is blue-grey seats and blue boot mat in good nick - but no headlights.

    More coming via PM's
    Cheers

Default Update: wrecking 85 Fuego (MELB) 2 week notice to go to crusher

Hi all - now the dropped Fuego restoration project has left - I am clearing the parts Fuego out of the backyard in 2 weeks to make way for the next electric vehicle project. All parts very cheap - simply want to recoup at least a little of the (now defunct) Fuego project's costs. Prices in multiple/submiltiples of Guiness 4-packs. At least then I can drown my sorrows. (1 4-pack =$15 ).
    What's still here:
Front & rear seats (in good nick) 4-pack each. Two 4-packs the lot.
    Gearbox: 3x 4-packs
Front hubs & driveshafts: (hubs & discs in excellent condition. Was keeping them as spares for mine - but no longer): 4 pack each side
    Front struts - relatively new - 2 x 4-packs the pair
Alloy wheels (14inch aftermarket - see photos): 3 x 4 packs the set

Plus lots of other stuff - see photos.
    What's gone:
    cylinder head
    power steering rack
    coil
    distributor
    washer bottle
    heater tap
and other bits - I forget! See photos for ideas ....

As I said in the heading - in 2 weeks it will be gone.

    Cheers

Could you put a pic of the radiator fan shroud, I need to see it so I can work out if I can modify it to fit into my floride. I wont be back to Melbourne for a while so even if you can't take a pic and dont mind hanging onto it till I get back home, thanks.

    Default Fan shroud

Hi - not quite sure what you are after - is this it? (It is the only bit remaining if there was more).

Thats exactly what I've got, but I'm actually after the plastic shroud that should cover the fans, which looks like you dont have.

You are confusing a fuego with a R25.
The R25 has the shroud you seek, whereas the fuego just has two fans unshrouded.

What you see is an OE fuego fan unit complete.

In 10 minutes or so, after dinner I'll post a pic of the R25 unit for comparison.

    Jo
Here you go R25 front end at night with a crapy phone camera.

Thanks for that Jo, because my floride has exactly the same fans and radiator as the fuego I was hoping to get it's shroud, but if it doesn't have one and the R25 is the one I need, is the R25 radiator the same as a fuego one?

Renault 25 has a bigger radiator.
2011 Renault Koleos manual petrol, yes it's boring, but not as boring as:

    No it doesn't.
I just measured them, and they are identical size, at least my R25 has an identical radiator size to my fuego.
Thats as certain as I can be.

There is no more width in the r25 to fit a wider radiator and the depth is the same.
The point of difference appears to be the shroud only, and the mounting lugs.

    Oh I stand corrected.

I'm sure I tried it once and found that the 25 was bigger. Alwell!!!

That might have actually happened, as the shroud and side lugs add some extra width that might stop you putting it in a fuego.

The nut that holds the fans on, is a lefty tighty nut, if you still have the fans and you don't need the nuts I'll take both but even one will do as I lost one somewhere between Townsville and Mackay

Have you still got the Fuego or did it really go to the crusher. Just joined aussie frogs and after fuego parts.

I ran a Fuego radiator in my R25 (I had a nearly new one lying around...) - its identical bar the two side lugs, so mine had a high tech cable tie to stop it rattling about Oh, and outlet for the overflow is a smaller size on the Fuego as well - easy to adapt.
