WANTED sunroof air deflector for 505

WANTED - sunroof air deflector for 505. I'm getting a little tired of the woosh sound I get from time to time from the sunroof. If anyone has got one to sell or knows where I can find one, drop me a line.

Stuart, I am still looking for a set of 15x6 eight spoke alloy wheels which were released on the series one 505 gti - not the flatter style ones that came out on the late end of the series two model. I read on one of the posts that apparently Avon make a a 390 tyre which should (might) fit the 390 wheel peugeot made (similar in looks to the 15x6) - have you known of anyone using this type of tyre??

the last of the avon tyres from the last shipment into the country have been sold
they are still available but are around the $270 plus mark
michelin will do a run of these tyres if there is anough demand for them but they are $400ea as they are now classed by them as a vintage size and they review the order demand every 1/4
i am currently tracking down other overseas suppliers for these metric tyres for anyone interested
if i get enough interest for these tyres we might be able to work out a deal for the shipping for them
they are still readily available in the states as far as i know
i have quite a few people looking around for the best prices over there as i type this
also i am currently working out how to change the PCD on the 504/05/604's so other wheels may be fitted to these cars
once again when i get this worked out how many people will be interested in this change ?
if i can get enough people wanting this modification the price to get the parts machined for it should be cheaper

Ah, so don't the 505s have standard bolts in their wheels?

I think I have found the 505 GR i'm going to buy, but I really don't like the standard wheels on it.

I take it I can't put 'normal' steel wheels with hubs on it?
I haven't looked at the bolts on them yet.

they are normal in that they have wheels studs
what i want to do is change the PCD from 4 in 140 to something more common
the rear axles i think are going to be pretty straight forward to do
the fronts i am going to have to investigate a little further

I think importing a set of 15" alloys from the USA would be cheaper than importing a set of tyres. The 15" 505 alloy wheels are much easier to find in the USA than they are here, due to the low demand for them there and the many 505 turbos which have been scrapped.

French Revolution in Austin Texas has no shortage of 505 turbos. Check out the junkyard section of their page:

    <a href="http://www.frenchrev.com/parts/index.html#junkyard" target="_blank">http://www.frenchrev.com/parts/index.html#junkyard</a>

I think the cars mentioned would have gone to the scap heap by now, but they've probably got more by now.

    Dave,
how much are the wheels going to cost to get them here in total ?
my other 1/2 loves the TRX style wheels but as avon supplies have dried up now she is trying to hunt down a set of 15" in the same style.
it's either that or i continue on with my re-drilling idea to stick another set of newer style wheels on the car
    maybe even 16"

If anyone is interested I know where you can find a set of the series 2 GTI mags, I passed them over as I like the look of the TRX/Series 1 15" mag on the 504, I think the others would look a bit stupid !

But I think the guy still has them he wants $500 with a set of good tyres !

Also I was told that one of the cheaper tyre makers *firestone or the like* have been making a 390mm tyre, I have yet to find them, but was told by a club member down here in Tas that they do exist!

I realise that they are only average tyres, but still a better option then re-tred *as far as I am concerned !*

    Sean,

I couple of years ago I made some enquiries about shipping some Pug stuff from the USA. I think from memory the cost was going to be about $1000 per cubic metre of material imported. This was going direct through the shipping agent that my sister works for, and picking the stuff up direct from their holding warehouse in Botany. I was thinking of importing a few sets of 15" alloys, some 5 speed gearboxes and some XN6 heads, but I decided it was going to take me too long to sell the stuff and get my money back.

Five 15" mags would take up less space and weigh less than 5 tyres, hence they would be cheaper to import. They would also cost less than 5 tyres in the US.

I guess 5 alloys would take up around 1/3 to 3/5 of a cubic metre, so you'd still be looking at around $350-$600 to import them I guess, so it would probably still be cheaper if you could find some here. If you imported a few 5 speed boxes at the same time as the wheels you might be able to sell them to cover your costs.

    I have been looking for about a year for this type of wheel with no luck whatsoever - admittedly probably not actively given the car has a set of 14inch wheels on it (so it's not the end of the world!). I may be interested in getting a set brought in from o/s if it works out to be the right price. I emailed the place that Dave left the address to, so I'll let everyone know re: prices / availability and condition of the wheels. Otherwise I'll just have to live in hope that the only other 505 GTi in Mackay catches fire {I hope they don't belong to this group }

Why bother chasing 15" rims when P504 Services in Forestville (Sydney) has good 390mm TRXs with plenty of tread for about $100-00.
