wtd: Mirrors Citroen XM or CX25

I need to find a drivers door mirror (and maybe the passenger door mirror) for my TVR. I know that the mirrors are from a Citroen CX25 or XM (don't know much about these models, sorry if I can't be more specific). Would you believe they are also on the Jaguar XJ220 and McLaren F1?

if you don't have these items, maybe you could point me in the right direction....the Citroen dealer parts people were very helpful, but told me they can't get the parts as these models were never officially imported....

email [email protected] -just remove 'nospam' to send email...

    Thanks All!

Continental Cars in Punchbowl have all sorts of late model CX mirrors "out the back"!

    Hi,

AFAIK the ones you want are the late CX 25 IE or Turbo mechanical remote ones - not XM ones (much more square). The early CX 25s have big chrome ones.

I think they look like the ones on Shanes CX Turbo?

As DS says, I think Continental have some new ones (and they could be suprisingly cheap), also I think there are a set on a wrecked GS wagon at European Autocare in Penrith (4731 6522).

aaah, you guys are amazing thank you all. I thought I wasn't going to be able to have a drive for 6-8 weeks while my mirrors hung off the sides of the car. But then again, if I drive fast enough, maybe I don't need mirrors. For pictures of the mirrors I need- and proof that non froggy cars use them, try

or for pics of the TVR try <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/kaos/PhotoAlbum2.html/URL" target="_blank"> here</a>

yes the TVR is great, and I'm a veeery lucky guy. Just a lucky guy with no mirrors...

Don't tell him !!! We need to save all the mirrors we can for our precious Cit's roll_lau roll_lau roll_lau

Seriously though, these are very hard to find in the UK as well. This is due to TVR and kit car owners wanting them. The Series II CX is one of the few cars you'll find with external mirrors that can be fitted to just about any car, and they are electric as well.

Did anyone mention how bloody noisy the mongrel things are though There noisy enough in the wind to convince you that you never want to wind down the window ...
