    R10 Bellhousing

Has anyone got, or knows where I can get, a R10 bellhousing, must be the one with the release bearing that slides on a tube? I believe they came out on the later R10s

    Ross,
The later (1969/70) R10 S has that gearbox bell housing, which enabled the later R12 type clutch & pressure plate to be adopted.

A R12 bell housing is also suitable - either choice is popular, as many R10's in Australia have been fitted with either 1.3 or 1.4 R12 engines.

With the R12 housing, I am not sure what happens with the side entry clutch lever, as you need to fit the later R10 type fork and thrust race. I have been fortunate in the past in acquiring the 10 S type bell housing.

Don't forget you will also need a R12 /10S spiggot shaft, otherwise the bell housing seal will not locate on the correct "rubbing area", and a rapid loss of gearbox oil will result.

    Cheers,

    Kim.
