    Renault spares

can any fellow swampswimmers put me on to any Renault spare dealers. My efforts to find a vac advance for my R TS20 have proved futile. These objects are are absolute crap as regards manufacture; several offers have shown, much to their owner's surprise, that their spares were duds, they sucked inasmuch that they would not suck!
My spawned again R TS20 will remain m
ere defective DNA until this impasse est penetre.
And may the designer of that defective component be fed exclusively on snails until his slimy bowels burst!

    John,

ASV have had a dubious report in the past from Aussiefroggers (read down the post.. even though I suggesed them up the top)

    <a href="http://www.aussiefrogs.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=000779" target="_blank">http://www.aussiefrogs.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=000779</a>

I have bought things there before, and all I can say is I thought it was expensive.

    Derek.

Why not try Caravelle Imports in Melbourne for new parts, or French Connection seems to have a collection of used Renault parts. One of our members in Canberra has a yard full of R20 wrecks and may be able to help. Will have to find his email for you if you are interested.

While nothing's impossible, it would surprise me...

They are a part of a Melbourne group... Perfectune, I think it might be. They carry parts for a very wide range of makes and models, so aren't dependent on a small clientele to stay in business.

Shame you didn't post earlier, I could have rung and checked. Might try to remember to drive by there on Sunday...

    Import Advantage
If I am not mistakeen they sold down all their Renault stock a few years back.
Katak, have you called french car Care in Brisbane? There must be some vac adv mechanisms left in captivity that aren't stuffed. Surely.

Will you be at Qld Uni tomorrow for the grande display??

Wouldn't a Peugeot vacuum advance fit anyway?

As long as it's a Ducellier distributor, anyway?

    Frank,
    Rays suggestion may work.
Ray?? Did the 505 with the OHC engine have a ducillier dizzy?? If so it may work, because these distributors were different in design to other ren/pug engine distrib's in that they don't have a "shaft" on the housing but have the drive gear at the base of the head of the dist.

Frank, I was talking to someone at the French Car aDay today in Bris and he told me he bought a new distributor from Caravelle in Melbourne
