    Default 205 GTi - Clutch Cable ???

Hi, I am struggling to find a replacement clutch cable for my '89 205 GTi S1. It has the BE1 gearbox. I was told by a dealer that the part is no longer made. I am 99% sure that the part number is 2150-97.

I would appreciate if anyone could help me out and advise where to find one of these elusive parts.

    Thanks!

If you are unsuccessful you can have them

repaired - http://www.autocables.com.au/ - mail him the old and he will refurbish

or made new - http://www.conwire.com.au/ - good work but in the dark ages with credit cards & EFT and use bloody awful Australia Post COD system.

EAI list two clutch cables for 205 as:
    P215073 CLUTCH CABLE-P205 BEI 1 to 7/88 (730mm)
    P2150A7 CLUTCH CABLE-P205 BE3 (BUILD 6/89 ON

They don't list 2150.97 or 2150.A2, which are also supposed to exist for 205. I don't know what the differences are.

I do have a new 205 cable (Maurice Lecoy brand), part# 2150.73, that I'll sell for $45 posted if anyone needs it.

Also there is a small metal pin that you may or may have not lost for the clutch fork. If you clutch cable broke, you will most likely lost this bit. There hard to come to by, if you struggle with finding one, let me know, I have a few spare. They don't come with a clutch cable.

excellent website which has help me alot.

i'd also suggest you call EAI & ask them which one is the correct one... i've bought most of my parts from them & have found that they've done the research since they only import parts for 205's sold here in oz.

Hi, Thank you all for your help - I finally got my shiny new clutch cable delivered from a parts dealer in the UK through ebay - cost $17 delivered! That would have been a good deal had I not already spent $80 on pugspares.co.uk who managed to send mr the wrong cable!!

Did you end up getting a part number?? I Have a December '88 s1 and just busted my cable today. The EAI listings have a gap so I'm not sure which one I need. I have the gearbox with reverse next to first (BE1?).

If anyone has one for sale or any info, it'd be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
