Default Wrecking 505 SLi 3 speed auto Sedan - Canberra

I have a silver 86 SLi sedan that I am parting out.

I am keeping many bits but if anyone needs anything specific like a 3 speed transmission, diff, panel, glass, trim etc., let me know because I only intend to have this car in my garage for a few weeks and then the remains will be sent to the metal recycler.

Call James on 0414 243 291. I can post parts.

Update 13/12/10 - Injection gear is now sold

    Gday James,

Do you happen to have the wheel trims for the car?

    Cheers

    Thanks heaps James,

I've got 1 already so 3 would be fine if you only have 3

I'll wait to hear from you

    Default wheel trims

    Hi Ben,

The car has two in total and both are cracked. Probably best to keep looking.

    Sorry about that.

Hi Andy, this is one of the cars I'm getting an engine out of. I don't think it will be a 4.6 but won't know until James pulls it out. Will keep you posted.

    Cheers

    Hi James,

I am swaping manual to auto transmission on my Peugeot 505 SR engine 1971ccm XN1/XN6 (I beleave SLi is the same engine).

Recently I bought 4 speed (PRND321)-(4HP22) automatic gearbox with propellershaft from GTi 2,2 liter whitch of course doesn't feet to my engine (doesn't feet the bellhousing, flywheell, hydraulic clutch torque converter).

The parts catalog says that bellhousing and torque converter on 3-speed (3HP22) and 4-speed (4HP22) are not the same but it doesn't says anything about flywheel because there is no part number on EPC picture and it is not aviable.

I beleave the flywheel on 3 speed and 4 speed autotransmission are the same.
So I need flywheel, flywheelflange, plate, bolts, in one word everithing what is on crankshaft and tell me the price please.

    Thanks

    Vjeko

    Default Auto bits

    Hi Vjeko,

Yes, my car has the XN6 motor.

The flywheel and other bits should be available once we get the engine out of the car. I will confirm this with the guy who is getting the complete motor, but don't think that they are needed by anyone. Postage to Croatia will be expensive but the parts will be cheap.

It will be a week or so before we pull the motor out. I'll get back to you after this at the latest.

    Thanks,
    James

Are panels the same between series I and II? And front door glass? What colour are the panels? What factory tint colour is in the driver's door glass?

OK, I am very interesting because as I sad the brend new is not aviable, let me know when you disasamble it. Surfacemail shipping will be lesser expensive but will take 2-3 months it doesn't matter.

    Thanks

    Default panels and glass

    Hi 505604,

Series I and series II front guards, front and rear bumpers and front skirts are different I believe. I think that the doors, boot and bonnet are the same.

    The car is silver.

Door glass - I think that they are the same between the series I and series II cars. I might be able to check tomorrow. I have a series I STI as well but my mate is borrowing it. I might see him in the morning though and will have a look at the glass.

I will check the tint on the SLi tomorrow also.

By the way, I just agreed to buy a silver series I STI manual also and am erring on parting it out also so if you need series I specific stuff, I might be able to help.

    Cheers,
    James

Hi, not too sure how to describe the tint - it looks mostly "grey". It doesn't appear too "brown" like I have seen on an SLi wagon that I once had. I could try taking a photo if that helps?

Does it have a dark blue interior?

    Thanks

    Default Interior

    Hi Hayden,

No, I wish it did. The seats and door cards are light grey-ish with a fleck of black and maybe red (kind of a small-patterned tweed cloth). I am thinking of keeping these for my STI sedan anyway as my seats aren't great.

I guess I should take some photos.

    Vjeko,

The enigne is out of the car now. I have the parts that were bolted to the end of the crankshaft, plus the torque convertor. The bits that were bolted to the crank are a large square plate and two smaller round ring "plates". The torque convertor and ring gear are still sitting in the front of the transmission in the car.

Here are photos. Let me know if you are interested in any of these bits.

    Thanks,
    James

Hi, as I see from the picture the gear for starter is on torque converter so there is no flywheel at all?!

Torque converter on 3HP22 (3-speed) and 4HP22 (4-speed) are not the same so I don't need it.

OK send me this plates on third picture.

+ I also need engine cooler where hot transmission oil goes through the engine cooler to cool or it goes through some separate transmission cooler? Do you have picture?

    Hi Vjeko,

OK - I will get a price for postage of the plates and send you a private message about it. Are you sure that these plates will fit the 4HP22 gearbox?

The "cooler" - there is a radiator which is a normal engine radiator, but I think that it has a side tank that the automatic transmission fluid goes through to get cooled. I'll check it out and will send you a photo of the bits that I have. I was hoping to keep the radiator actually for my 504 but if I can get a proper 504 one, then I won't need to keep it. Postage for this large part to Croatia could be expensive.

    Thanks,
    James

    Hi James,

    you're right!
The square plates are not the same on 3HP22 and 4HP22, so don't send me the square plate.

I was researching and find out that I need more two cover plates on bellhousing which are not the same as on manual transmission. I have marked them with two circles on last picture; part numbers: 2107.66 , 2107.56 .

Here are EPC pictures what we are talking about:

    FLYWHEEL AND PLATES XN1/XN6

    TORQUE CONVERTER 3HP22

    TORQUE CONVERTER 4HP22

    BELL HOUSING 3HP22

    BELLHOUSING 4HP22

    BELLHOUSING 3HP22 (two plates wanted 2107.66 , 2107.56 )

Finaly send me then two round plates and their bolts on your third picture in blue box and two bellhousings cover plates marked on my sixth picture. Let me know if you want to sell engine cooler (radiator) which has transmission oil cooling.

    Thanks

    Vjeko
