Hmm. In case you can't tell, I'm really rather interested... if you can post some pics, you may just have a sale.

Any idea what postage is liable to be worth? (FYI - I'm in postcode 4075).

    Any more pics?

How difficult are they to attach? Hell, how _do_ I attach them?

If I put them on and later take them off, are there any holes or anything left on my car or in the trim or anything?

Thats what im trying to figure out myself, i've never fitted it, it came with the car.

    im looking for the instructions.

sorry about the pics but, my dig camera is crap & playing up. The email i tried to send stuffed up. Sorry, i'll keep on trying.

im fairly certain you do not have to drill any holes though.

sorry for the slow responses, i've been busy as of late.

    regards asanka

The roof racks are attached by captive nuts behind the door sealing rubbers.

There is a flat rubber bung which when removed allows access to the nut.

From memory, these racks will only fit a 4 doored 306, which rules out the N3 XR, N5 Style & GTi6.

    Gotcha, thanks for that man!

For those interested then obviously the nuts play a big part with this & i've just checked that i only have two of these nuts, that said these nuts are fairly stock standard & exact sizes could be found anywhere.

I have seen roof racks on a gti-6 before, not sure if they were Pug factory ones or not, but i have seen them. I'll endeavour to find that info about it, i call reagan motors if i have to.

Before i sell it, i'd like to fit it on my car just to make sure it fits & everything, i just don't want to sell an inferior product to a fellow Af member. As i said, i've never fitted this before so let me figure it out, which could mean you may have to wait a while knowing my lack of skill .

    Thanks
    Asanka

Sure.. sounds good... if it's not too much bother, could you take some pics as you put them on? Especially of any tricky parts....

Let me know if/when you successfully get them on - chances are I'll then buy them from ya

    thanks buddy.

On a 3 door, you have the front racks that use the screw holes behind the door sill rubber. Simple as can be.

For the rear you have an add-on that runs down the side of the car and clamps up onto the top of rear window sill. It's a bit tricky, but easy enough. I've never played with the factory ones before, I ran Thule ones, which I can highly recommend.

You can not run 4 door racks on a 3 door car. Sorry.

What a saga this thread is!!

We have Rola bars for our 306XT and they look exactly like what has been shown (finally) here.

They are easy to fit, using bolts into the captive nuts, and we have used them very successfully with a mesh rack attached to the bars. The large size racks (for Commode wagons) fit the 306 as it has a wide roof. Excellent carrying capacity.

Good buy for $40 if all the bits are there.

Yes, I'm just explaning the difference between the 3 and 4 door for you. They are not interchangeable and there would be no point in getting the "add on" to make the 4 door one work on a 3 door.

As John has said, they're easy as can be to put on a 4 door and are a bargain at the price you are nominating.

Actually, if anyone wants two bikes racks to go on a Rola Rack, let me know.
