Kugelfischer information/tools

This is a shot in the dark, but I'm looking for any documentation on the PL-004 Kugelfischer fuel injection pumps as fitted to the 404 KF2 engine.

I already have the Peugeot factory manual for the injection engine; what I'm looking for is the kind of information that a fuel injection specialist that worked on Kugelfischer injection pumps would have had. For example: parts manual, exploded diagrams, calibration instructions for flow bench testing, internal adjustment instructions, detailed technical description...

Same for the tools - I already have the Peugeot (Fenwick) tool kit 8.0112Z for tuning and removing/replacing the injection pump on the car (actually all 404 and 504 injection models), but what I'd like to know is if the special Kugelfischer-specific tools used in an injection pump rebuilding shop might be available anywhere.

Finally, any new spares that anyone may have a lead on, such as internal injection pump parts (e.g. suction valves, delivery valves, seals, gaskets, bearings) not to mention new injectors - would interest me. It's not that I'm particularly desparate for parts, but I'm in hoarding mode at the moment

Hi Steve,

Yeah, I'll be sure to "share the knowledge" as they say at Aussiefrogs!

I found a Club 404 member ("Fred" Binet) in France who says he got a set of these tools from an old guy in Belgium - I emailed him (in French) a few days ago but haven't heard from him yet. If I do, I'll follow up with another posting here.
Mind you, if he has documentation, it'll be in French (ok for me, but I don't know about your friend). I sure hope Fred replies.

In case your friend's interest is in having a Kugelfischer pump rebuilt, check out www.koller.de . They offer exchange injection pumps for the 404 and 504. Does your friend have a 404? If so, does he need a photocopy of the Peugeot (factory) 404 Injection workshop manual in English?

Cheers, MT

A follow up...

I may have found the Kugelfischer documentation I am seeking from a good friend in France. He says that he'll make a photocopy for me. If this lead pans out, I could certainly share the info with anyone else. However, the documentation is likely in French.

I'll keep you posted...it may be a month or more before this resolves itself. Stay tuned wink

He has an array of 504 TI's and just purchased a 404 Ti. We managed to get the 404 running on the weekend and it is not doing too bad.
I hope you do receive the information from "Fred". It would be very interesting reading (or looking if ones French is not so flash). I think he is at the point where he will grab a Frenchman direct off the street to decode some of the information.

Keep in touch.

Steve.

Steve,

Actually Fred was a bust, but the guy copying the Kugelfischer manual for me that I mentioned in my previous post is my friend Jean-Pierre, also a Club 404 member who lives near Paris.

We stayed at his place in 1990 and met him again in 1995 while we were over there. I communicate with him regularly, consider him a good friend and I'm sure the goods are coming from him eventually, by surface mail.

He's also bought some NOS 404 Injection parts from the Peugeot Musée for me - injection head, rear worm/wheel, small parts - (well, he bought them with MY money wink ) some of which have arrived already.

So I will post here again when I get the Kugelfischer documentation and say what it's like and if anyone wants a copy I'll do it at cost (about 10 cents US/page, plus postage).

Steve, I already have the factory 404 Injection workshop manual, in English, does your friend need a copy of that? This manual is useful for tuning, though the Peugeot special tools are really needed to do some of the adjustments properly. As I mentioned before, the manual I'm waiting for is all about the injection pump internals, something the Peugeot manual does not delve into at all.

email me at:

OK, two months later I've got the promised documentation from France...........but it's what
I already had, the damned Peugeot manual. I already have two of those! D'OH!!

So my search for Kugelfischer factory servicing documentation (from Kugelfischer, NOT Peugeot dealers) continues....

Yes, thanks Paul.

There's even a better online version of that same sales brochure online at bayarea02.com/kugelfischer/ - it's a much more accurate scan, in colour (which only is on the cover anyway...)

But that brochure was simply distributed in the motor trade intended to convince manufacturers of the advantages of fuel injection.

What I'm looking for is the documentation that Kugelfischer service agents used to adjust and service the internal parts of the injection pumps. I'm also looking for the "exploded diagram" parts manual that would go with it. Not to mention some of the tools...

Thanks for trying, though
