The tyres are actually still available, XZX 145x15 are in the order of $100 each. Not too bad really given that second hand tyres are a bit of a gamble!

sam, if you're willing to look at 165 there's a bit more choice & not just michy's.
I had 165's on my GS.
They may have taken the drive quality away though but wasn't ever too sure.

So what exactly does all the numbers mean on tires? And why do the experts claim "only michilin" and "a gs was designed around 145"

145 is the width (tread) in millimetres.
15 is the rim size in inches.
Wonder why they mix imperial with metric

Thinking about it I think 165's rubbed a bit. I had X2 type bumpers which attached differently to the wheel arch at the rear.

I think imperial is used because it is a standard measurement with tyres, apart from TRX's anyway, which were another weird French invention!

With really old Michelin X's they sometimes have both measurements on the tyre i.e. 145x380 and 145x15 or 135x330 and 135x13.

Do you guys know what sized wheel the Renault Fuego had?

Was it a a TRX or is it a 'normal' wheel?
