Default wtd 505 series 2 diesel starter

    Hi
Does anyone have a starter for an '88 505 GTD? (XD3T)

I don't mind if it's abit tired, provided it's not too far gone.

    Cheers, H

I beleive they are different for Auto and Manual ring gears. You may want to specify.

I also think that they are the same starter motor as for the XD2 / XD2S motors, can anyone confirm this? I have a couple of spare, both auto and manual, from the XD2 and XD2S if required.

    Default 505 diesel starter

Yes Scott, the auto and manual are different as my father in law can attest. He brought one of those big bastards from a manual down a few weeks ago for my auto diesel and when I put it on, it didn't mesh with the ring gear! I think the xd3 is the same as well. If you want to sell your GTD, let me know!

    Default starter

Herman, I've got a spare starter for a manual diesel XD2S but I'd be willing to bet that the GDT is the same. I would sell it for $30, but don't know how you'd ship it to you up there without breaking the bank. They weigh alot (probably 8-10Kilos) Let me know.

Even better Herman, I've got a friend in Melbourne with a couple of them. He wants $50 for one. If you want his details, let me know.
