Was beginning to think I would never say this but due to the recent rain the 405 shell still resides in my garden (it is not a good marital aid ) but with the boot lid gone and the front door, it looks like its days are very numbered still.

    Default 405 passenger door

I was hoping to come down today to collect the door but haven't got a reply from the private message I sent you yesterday. I am still interested in the door and possibly other parts, but willl have to make it next weekend. Will you have disposed of the cars by then ?

thanks for the reply. Im not sure why you missed me on friday but on saturday I decided to go for a drive anyway and did a tour of the Southern Highlands.
    1. What is the best time to catch you either Thursday or Friday?
    2. Do you have any front struts for a 405?
    3. I am also after at least 2 steel wheels with or without tyres.
    4. What do you want for the 405 bonnet?
    5. Do you have a front windscreen for a 405?

Anything else that I see, once I get there, I will make you an offer on.

    Regards
    Mike

More specifically the pump and fuel level sender unit?

The fuel tank is still there, the level sender unit as posted earlier. There is no pump as you are thinking as it is a diesel and therefore pulls the fuel from the tank with the diesel injection pump. Fixing it didnt work then?

    Ahh. no pump part.

Nods. sorry abit vague these last few weeks.

I can't read the value of the pot, so I'll have to just buy one.

    Peugeot want $850
    Parramatta Prestige want $150
ASV want $95 (which is surprising). But I later found out, they apparently pull the pumps off. Which is why its cheaper.

Nothing is wrong with my pump, so I am thinking of going with the ASV one. Then again, not entirely sure that these do come appart like they say.

1 x 505 silver slate bonnet minor damage to front corner.

Is it still available? How much do you want for the bonnet Cruiserman? I've been trying to find out what freight to Melb would cost.

Lots of bits and pieces have gone to help out stricken pugs, however the need for the wreck to go is now urgent, and likely to happen this week. I pulled the 505 doors out of the shed today and they are far too good to stick in the 405 shell when it is picked up this week, but that is what will happen to them if someone does not show interest in them. The bootlid is very good also. The 505 bonnet lookes like it will do sevice on Oalkfords damaged car. There are 4 505 wheels maybe the suby guys will be able to use them. I can post pictures of the doors if any one is interested as they are leaning against the 405 shell. Hurry these parts are too good to waste.

    Neil,
the LH vent on one of my cars has broken clips. Need the bit that clips thru the dash, & the back. (this then clips to the plastic pipe, from memory.)

Have U got a spare clock? I may be interested in one for backlight repairs.

    regards Doug

    Hi Neil,

Couple of bits i could use from the 405 -

electric window switch (the one-touch up/down jobbie)

rhs door rubber - the one that goes accross the top of the doors and down the a-pillar.

windscreen wiper arms - especially if the sprayers are still intact.

    anything available??

    thanks
    1992 mi16 1.9 litre - it's a love hate realtionship.

    Default Final request.

    Hi Neil,

Did you track down the front bumper?

I know the drivers door is 'firetrucked' but is the window winder mechanism i.e. motor, gearbox, pulleys and wire salvagable? I also need the wing mirror switch because in my enthusiasm to extract it from the door card it exploded scattering it's contents that I cannot now reassemble. There doesn't appear to be a plug connection between the switch and the main wiring loom. Maybe you will need to extract the whole drivers side door loom. Hopefully it is easier than the loom for the passengers side door.

    Cheers
    Mike
