    Default sunroof cable

    Hi peter
I don't know if you know of or have tried them but you may be able to have a new cable made by a company here in Vic. called Auto Cables, Ph. 03 94341410. they are not open until the 10th. of Jan. and you would have to supply a sample, don't know about costs but might be worth a try. their website is www.autocables.com.au trust this may be of help.
    regards
    Neil

    Default Thanks Chris and Neil

Thanks for the responses. No, The 205 cable is too short, Chris. Neil, I will give you suggestion a try when they get back to work, although I'm not hopeful. Apparently new cables are very expensive ($300+) and not easy to get. Problem is I like to have things working as they should and my car in original condition! It's an expensive and frustrating obsession!

    Default Autocables

Checked Autocables out and they don't do anything plastic or nylon. Dead end.

    Stick with it Peter,

somewhere someone will combine the cable making expertise with raw materials that you require it in. You have the old cable as a template I presume. Do the fittings look like metal cable fittings?, could you by these at cable place? Those fellows that make sails do some interesting things with nylon and plastic, as do the fellows that make those sail shadecloth thingoes, how about industrial blinds and curtains. Think how great you'll feel if you pull it off for $25, so long as you don't do $275 wear and tear/fuel on the car doing it.

Any larger size industrial estate will have someone who could give you some direction. Repositories of great knowledge that they are.

Cheers ed ge nil carborundum etc......
