Would you have a white 505 spoiler? If so what is the price? Also, wouldn't have an LSD would you (worth a try)

There's a few things I'd like to source, maybe not right now but in the near future (money's a bit, no, a lot tight)

    1. A Series 1. 505GTi steering wheel in GOOD condition - mine's all squooshy.

    2. A heater/ AC blower fan that doesnt squeal - preferably new/ish or recently reco'd. Not sure if I can fix mine yet...

    3. Possibly a speedo, my odometer spins hundreds of thousands at the same time as tenths of kilometers. It doesn't worry me, but not sure if this is going to be a roadworthy problem.

    4. Going out on a limb here, would you possibly have an after-market cruise-control unit - maybe someone has fitted one to one of your cars? Were they ever available as an option from Peugeot??

All parts, series 1 GTi Auto 1985. Thanks
White 505Gti just about fitted with XN & 5 Speed.

Just so you'll know for next time... I know a lady who used to own a 1988 (yep) 505 GTi sedan with a four-speed auto. It was one of the ones with the updated alloy wheel design, and it had particularly nice seats/upholstery. Kind of blue/black check sort of design. I haven't seen such seats in any other 505.

I don't suppose you would have a reluctor type dizzy from a Ser II?

It doesnt matter if its a K or L EFI motor as I will be locking the advance anyway..

Hi, is this a GTi cluster?
Are you sure the speedo and odometer work properly?

No point me buying it if it has the same problems as the ones I already have... cheers.

4WDrift: I installed an aftermarket cruise control to my 505 GTi when I had it. It's a pretty easy set-up - it just takes time and fiddling (as does most jobs on a 505). I bought mine from K-Mart - but I've seen the same ones in Autobarn etc (Autobarn will fit them also). From memory it was an AP-50 system - cost me $150 I think. I fitted the control unit next to the headlight beam adjuster which is on the lower right hand side of the steering wheel. It comes with the steel to make up a braket to attach it to the accelerator cable. The only extra thing I bought was some cable for the magentic sensors which attach to the drive shaft - from what I can recall, the majority of the drive shaft is covered over which meant that I had to attach it near the rear axle - hence the extra cable to do the job.

It was certainly a worthwhile task in my opinion, I think however, autobarn (or it's car-related equivalents) will do the whole thing for $300 including the system.

I have seen one 505 with factory cruise. It was an STi. There was an additional stalk on the left hand side of the steering column under the indicator stalk which ran the system.

...Meanwhile, I wonder where my 505 is... Anyone out there buy a 505 GTi in Brisbane circa feb / march this year - rego 378-EHS?? If anyone see's her, tell her I miss her

Cheers Liam, good to know it can be done for a fairly reasonable sum... I think I will do it as the main reason I bought the car was for long trips, although I now realise that any trip in a 505 is a good one

It's going to have to wait a while though, I'm still struggling to get her on the road and unfortunately have run out of money for the project.
Latest setback is the odometer. And the reversing lights... And the oil leak ... it just seems to go on and on
