Default WTB: 405 Mi16 timing belt cover and aux pulley

Have an engine missing the outer timing cover and its aux pulley and key. After these things for the wet sleeve 1.9.

I'm confused by the term aux pulley. Do you mean harmonic balancer?

No the pulley that drives the Aux belt concentric with the main timing belt driver on the end of the crank. Is it called the harmonic balancer because it is?

    I suspect you're talking about 3+ parts:
    1. woodruff key
    2. cambelt bottom pulley
    3. harmonic balancer

The bottom pulley is attached to the crank by a large bolt and washer, keyed. The harmonic balancer attaches to the bottom pulley via four M8 bolts. I'll see if I can find some parts/pics.

    Correct as always!

Yes that is what I am after as well as plastic timing cover, the back bit is there plus fuel rail and injectors. The cylinders / pistons are waiting for some good use!

The pulley that drives the timing belt is there as is timing belt etc.

Yes it is frustrating, got to learn howto do image resizing . compression. You have a few there, might pay a visit or get No 1 son who works at Garden Island to drop by? Unless he is off on a taxpayer funded cruise of course.

Give you a call tomorrow morning? Won't tell you what the going rate for an alloy one is though

Most are XU10J4, which have an extra groove and will foul on the XU9J4 cover. Good XU9J4 harmonic balancers are hard to come by.

Ah so the going rate reflects this scarcity. Even looked to see if the xu10 plastics would fit, but alas no. Might have to use good old fleabay. Will check the parts stash that came with it first though.

BX19 parts would fit the bill? The harmonic balancer if in good condition should be fine, like the 205 one.

BX19, no good. BX16V, yes. You can use an XU10J4 balancer if you use an XU10J4 bottom cam belt cover. XU9J4 and XU10J4 bottom cam pulley are identical.

I would have some if not all of these parts, have got some new bottom covers, the ones around the pully.

Thanks Graham, the cover I am after is the big one over the cam pulleys?

this is wonderful! Do you by chance have a fuel rail and injectors? Can clean /rebuild old ones if they are dirty.

Thanks the plan is a high compression 20 thou oversize pistons (10.4 yet to be measured) sequential injected with Stage 1 cams. Very exciting. Better condition by far to the xu10 lump I currently have.

I am going for a combination of the two. Today I'm going to pull apart the XU10J4 I got last week. I will fit an 88 mm crank, the XU9J4 head I have had for a while with Piper Ultimate road cams, Jenveys, MS3 and 5.2 final drive. This will go into a 405 which was going to be a Rallycross car until Rallycross was canned! It will be used for any event where road reg or permit isn't required.
