    Default Floride/dauphine brake parts

Wanted - I need all the parts for the front & rear brakes except slave cylinders, when I pulled my Floride's drums off there was nothing inside just the backing plate & a very corroded slave cylinder. Drum width 228mm lining 35mm.condition of linings not a factor as I can get new ones, restoration will be stalled if I cannot get these parts, I believe Dauphine brakes are the same, HELP

Others may know better, but it just might be that the Floride got the Dauphine Gordini brakes. The drums and shoes are a few mm wider than standard Dauphine. I think they are the same otherwise. I don't seem to have the correct measurement for the widths handy.

Anyway, this guy has the parts new: bretagneautoretro.fr Might be best to just dig deep in the pocket?

http://bretagneautoretro.fr/crbst_112.html shows the brake parts for a drum-brake Floride.

He definitely delivers although he doesn't communicate well.

    Cheers

John, thanks for the reply, Bretagneau only offer exchange which is a bit hard when there is nothing to exchange, it appears there are 2 lining widths, 30mm & 35mm both are on Bretagneau's site listed for both Floride & Dauphine, my drums are machined to 40mm width so I assume the linings are 35mm, however it's not just brake shoes needed it's handbrake actuators, brake shoe spacers, supports & clips. Good news I have been contacted by a fellow aussifroger & may have my problems solved.

Good to hear - I wasn't aware of the Bretagne Auto Retro "exchange requirement", presumably only for shoes? I'm sure I have the odd thing in my pile of parts, left over after converting my 4CV from 7" standard to 9" spider-wheel Dauphine brakes (HUGE improvement) so shout if you end up with any odd things missing.

They are quite good brakes actually. If you get over-excited of course the R8/10 disc brakes bolt on....

    Cheers

Thanks John will keep you in mind, I want to restore this Floride to as near as origional as possible, the chap moving in over the road works for a brake co. in Sydney & offered to reline the brakes & machine the drums for cost however he finishes work in march so time is against me. Frank & Linda Wicks think they might have some bits too.

Good to hear all that. I'd better have a look at what odd stuff I might have that I don't need. You should go and inspect Frank's underfloor stash I think.

Last brake place I went too had the Dauphine shoes listed in their book but I was getting mine relined so didn't ask whether they had any stock. You never know your luck. I can attest to locally-made braided stainless steel hoses being an improvement too. I wouldn't go near O/S hoses.

How's the C-matic going? I'm using mine quite a lot at present. Lovely.

OK I've checked my 4cv brake box. In the Dauphine bag, I have spare two handbrake spreader sets, that is two of both the lever that pivots on the brake shoe and attaches to the handbrake cable and the flat steel slotted bit that does the spreading. I also have two of the main (top) springs. I have a pair of shoes but they are Dauphine, 30 mm wide, not what you want.

So, if you end up short of what I have to give away, shout!

    Cheers
