    Be aware there were two type of fuel senders used in the 12's for the early and late types.
    One increases resistance as it empties and one decreases resistance as the tank empties.
    If you use the wrong type the fuel gauge will read full when empty and visa-versa.

    The resistance wire has normally worn through.
    May be able to fix by having a close look where the break is and rejoining

    If it is indeed a problem of resistance wire, this is easily fixed. There are many places that sell resistance wire and redoing it is not that hard.

    Still after rear shocks. After going through boxes of spares I actually had a fuel tank sender, so that is back working
