    Default WNT: PRV V6 complete ???

    Hi Froggers,

    I have a client who requires a decent and complete PRV V6.

    Any out there????

    Hi Ray

    I have a 1995 Renault Laguna here that has a 3 litre V6 in it, the car has 275,000 Km on the odometer. This car was my daily driver until I got a 2002 Laguna to replace it. I continued using the car as work car up until November last year when It run out of registration.

    Laguna is a good donor option. There seem to be more about than 605/XM.
    A late Volvo 760 may also work as a 2.85l donor. The last facelifted model.
    You can probably buy a water pump for it too! Not so easy for the Laguna/605/XM version.

    Hi Ray
    If you're still in the hunt I have two prv v6s here (one es9j4, one es9j4s) so they're the 3L (or 2.9 as some places list it). Don't know if you're in the market for it. Both run fine. The es9j4 has about 200,000 on it and the es9j4s (better option) about 140,000 and cam belt was changed 20,000 ago. Real good engine, shame the car got driven up the bum and written off. I know you're in Perth so we can work on price. Feel free to PM me.

    Those engines are the quad cam type with a timing belt, my understanding is that Ray is looking for an engine with single over head cams and a timing chain.

    No, these are a later Peugeot Renault design.

    I have 2-3 2.8 Oddfire K-jetronic motors here I'm sure you could make a good one from them. They were all in various states of running when pulled out. However I'd probably just strip/check/reassemble before use. $150 each if interested

    Pretty much, but it came in 2.7, then 2.85, then reworked as the evenfire versions. XM/605/Laguna used a later 3.0 litre version. There was also a 24 Valve version, but it's very rare and a couple made it here in used XMs. Laguna will be the easiest source of a 3.0. Probably Volvo for various 2.72.8 versions. ES9 is different.
