    Hi Mr P,
No It is from the R12/1300 that is on my workshop floor.

I want it for a R10. Even just a base, that bolts to the Weber carb.

    Thanks,
    Ray

Is it the same as the later R10S air cleaners with the Webber carb? If so I'll have 2. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Christian, the filters are very similar, so yes plese check for me.
    Thanks

KB, as above, just the R12 has 3 clips on the side of the top part, but the base is most important.
I can then adapt to what I want.
    Thanks

The R12 never had that style of air cleaner housing. You're probably looking at a frankenstein incarnation of someone's imagination.

Redline used to make a Weber filter with housing and a blank bottom plate you could cut to fit your carby top. There might be a NOS one still lurking on my shelves.

    What Schlitzaugen said.
The air filter for the Weber equipped R12 was a cylinder the bolted to the inner guard similar to the Solex equiped 12's.
If you had an air filter sitting on top of the carb like in the photograph you'd wouldn't be able to close the bonnet. So you'd have to cut a hole in the bonnet and fit a scoop or a shaker.
The R15, R17, and US spec. R12's had to have a bulge in the bonnet to clear the carb top and they still had the airfilter on the inner guard.

    Cheers

Well then maybe it is a R10S type, not knowing what was fitted in Aus.

That might be right. 1200 examples of the 10S were built, and I guess the air filter housing was the same as 8S in France.

If it was he 1289c unit I sent down then it was from an R10 1300, an import.

I have a top bottom and some other bits you may have to offset some of the bits I want from you...

    Mr. P,
I have all the parts for the 10S manifold and Weber, but the base of the air cleaner has been welded and looks like the ocean on a stormy day. Hence required to complete the job.

Seems Christian has what I require.

Thought it was Aus R12 when Johns engine arrived. ?????

    Thanks,
