    Default Now wrecking. 406 coupe

This very rare and very desirable Peugeot 406 coupe just came in. This is a manual making it rarer still. We will be breaking it up for parts so anyone who has one of these stunning Pininfarina designed coupes will have access to parts.

$110 each with tyres. Tyres have about 50% tread left.

Maybe, I'd have to get $2000 as it is. The reason it's not selecting gears is because the gear linkages are stretched and needs a whole assembly (this would have been the reason it was parked in the first place).

There the same as STDT and we sold our last set yesterday.

Can I get a price on a can of "ambiance with a serious hint of driver feel"?

    David,

Does the sun roof work? I have a 2000 406 V6 manual sedan (first of the D9s) that has a sun roof with some broken components and I am looking for replacement parts.

While the sun roof in the photo of your coupe appears to be the same as in my 406 I would need to check they are compatible parts wise.

Assuming a match, I am interested in potentially purchasing the whole sunroof if you wreck this coupe.

    Cheers

    John T

This roof is aftermarket so I don't know if it's the same as yours.

We will be wrecking it so all parts available.

For the sake of a $200 set of gearbox cables? I get that you're not in the resale game, but there were less than 600 of these imported into Aus/NZ, the majority being condemned with the ZF Auto. If the rest of the car is in decent nick the market would easily accept $5k for one of these and you could be doing your bit to conserve a genuinely rare vehicle.

Yes but I'm not interested in preserving genuine rare vehicles. I'm still coping slack for wrecking a genuine 205 GTi classic and there was only about 70 of those.
I'd sell you this car for 2k and you can do it.

I agree it's a shame, but it's also a tough call to try and save a $2000 car which needs a bunch of work to make it maybe worth $4000.

I'd love a 406 coupe, but my wife would go spare if I tried to persuade her this one is a bargain.

    Hi David,

I need a set of wheels for one of these. What do you have?

    Cheers,

Is the recirc air flap motor in these the same as a series 2 405 Mi16?

Thing is that they really didn't drive very well, the sedans were better.

It could be argued that David is preserving the spirit of the 406 coupe.
A bit like organ donation. 100 cars will live because of one cars demise.

I suspect there is likely to be much "cross vehicle organ donations". Which may not be healthy for purists

I was about to ask whether the bumper was any good... Only realised at the last minute that this is a threat revival situation and that the slightly dodgy bumper in question is already on my car
