Default WANTED : GTI6 / Xsara VTS Timing Belt Manual Tensioner Bolt

    Hello Guys,

I'm doing a timing belt change on my 03 citroen xsara vts for the first time. It has the automatic tensioner but I really want to use the manual tensioned timing belt on this change which means I need the manual tensioner stud/bolt. Peugeot part number is 082017 but it can be found on any Peugeot GTI6 or Citroen VTS pre-2000 (xu10j4rs engine).

Is anyone wrecking one of these vehicles or happens to have this bold/stud lying around? I can order one in from Peugeot but that takes 3 weeks. I am super happy to pay for it as well as postage to Brisbane. More information can be found here : Cambelt bolt/stud - Engines Forum - Peugeot 306 GTi-6 & Rallye Owners Club Post #9.

    Cheers.

any xu10j4r also has them too so that opens the field a lot of the 306 models use this.

Ok thanks. Looks like I'll have to either stay with automatic or wait 3 weeks. I've rung so many places and no one has anything.

Have you tried a bolt specialist asking for an M8 x 55mm in grade 8.8 or better?

I gave up and ordered an automatic tensioned kit. It wasn't that much more expensive and I decided all the hassle of swapping and finding parts wasn't really worth it. I have everything I need now and should be doing the job over the weekend. I've been studying your post on the cambelt swap, pgti6, it's very informative.
