Default WTB: S1 405 sedan tow bar

Hey all, finally realize the value of tow bars. Am after one for a 405 sedan.

I've got one for a series 2, should be the same.
    Hayman Reece.
Trouble is I am in Melbourne, I could take it to Sydney or Canberra next week.

I have a series 1 405 tow bar with some surface rust but still quite all right. You can have it for $20 plus postage/freight costs. I live in Morwell Vic.

OK, it has 80kg vertical load capacity and 1000kg horizontal.
This is from the Hayman Reese plate welded to the unit.

Let me know if you want it and I'll take it off tomorrow.

mmm....need thinking time. I was hoping it would be a tad more than that. I wonder what determines the limit(s)? I'd like to tow the 205 with the Mi16x4. Let me know how much you want and I'll do some research.

It looks very strong, the car would be the limiting factor I would think.
I tow my 205 with one the same as this behind my 405 SRi, using 205 maxis old trailer.
An Mi16 would be slightly better, lower gearing (you are always ending up around 2000 rpm) and stiffer rear suspension but it is OK.
The plate is nowhere in view so you wouldn't get booked.
I would be happy with $50.
I've still got two sets of OEM roof bars if you are after them.

I guess I was more worried about the rear of the car bending, opening up the gap in the rear door/C pillar. I'll take it in any case.

Having picked my towbar up on sunday. It looks fairly light duty. I'd defs want to look at reinforcing it to tow even a 205.
